From June 21st to the 25th, delegates from across the life of the United Church of Christ will be gathering in Milwaukee for General Synod. While delegates will be the ones voting on resolutions that confront the Church and the broader world, each resolution is also an opportunity for a conversation in which every member of the denomination can participate. As such, the UCC's Council for Climate Justice is sponsoring a webinar in which lead authors and advocates for five environmentally-related resolutions will present on their respective resolutions for ten minutes each. Time will also be given for webinar participants to engage the presenters with questions and discussion. The total time allotted for the webinar is 75 minutes.
The five resolutions include:
-Support for the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act of 2019
-Let Justice Roll Down—Declaring Support for the Green New Deal and Affirming the Intersectionality of Climate Justice with All Justice Issues
-Addressing the State of Global Forced Migration
-The Use of Plastic Foam (Stryofoam)
-Calling on the United States to Pull "Back from the Brink" and Prevent Nuclear War
Sign-up now to join the webinar! Even if you can't make its scheduled time, still sign-up, and we will send you a recording of it.
Special thanks to the sponsorship of the Cornerstone Fund in making this webinar possible.
