Prayer and Preparation: Introduction to Rapid Response and Embodiment Practices when armed disruptors come to your PRIDE event (or other public LGBTQ spaces).
As the legislative attack on trans and queer persons continues, hate groups have been emboldened to act publicly. In recent weeks armed militias, neo-nazis, and violent white supremacists have disrupted public PRIDE festivals and library programming featuring queer people. We anticipate this kind of organized and armed disruption to continue. Join Rev. Tracy Howe, Minister for Congregational and Community Engagement for an introduction to rapid response and embodiment practices to help local church members prepare for and respond to this kind of violence. Topics such as risk assessment, intervention, communication, and organizing in these scenarios will be addressed.
