Greetings everyone! We will get started soon. If you would like to introduce yourself in the chat box, that would be great. You can share your name, church, city, and the best thing about holy week. So I am Brooks Berndt in Cleveland, Ohio, and I attend Plymouth UCC. The best thing about Holy Week is introducing its meanings and rituals to my 2 and 6 year old girls.
I'm Frank Lane, deacon at Fox Island UCC
this is Michael O'Connell from UCC Midland.
Rev Dwight Wagenius, Community Minister at Mayflower UCC, Minneapolis, MN
I'm Clint Collins, pastor of First Christian CHurch (Disciples of Christ) in Bremerton, WA, and I'm watching with a couple of my leaders today.
I am a member of our Board of Trustees
I’m Julie Sutfin from Christ Church UCC Maplewood, Missouri.
Hi, This is Rev. Patience Stevenson, Visitation Pastor at Union UCC in Neffs, PA
Gary Garrett here, Kirkwood UCC, Atlanta, GA and we had the honor of hearing Brooks speak on Earth Day several years ago!
We’re Patty and George Metzger from Fox Island United Church of Christ in Washington State
Here is the website I shared earlier about the UCC's Creation Justice Churches program: http://www.ucc.org/how_it_works_becoming_a_creation_justice_church
Gary is sharing
David Huber, pastor of Plymouth UCC Eau Claire, WI and part of the WI Conf. Creation Care team
That would be awesome if we could aggregate our results and impact!
we could type questions into chat
https://www.epa.gov/JoinBuildings page does not exist
Never mind... it's energystar.gov
we have a building that is less than a year old--- do we need to have a minimum of 12 months in order to receive an Energy Star rating?
is there any financial assitance available?
We enrolled in a program with our electric company that allows them to shut off our 20 heat pumps for short periods during high energy use periods. Is there a way to factor that into the Portfolio Manager?
Question: what information do you need to collect in order to fill in the P. M. ? I have the feeling you need some square footage and other illusive data…
great, thanks, we can probably wait a year so that is fine
Can you talk briefly about the different load profile that a congregation has compared to a standard office building and how that was calculated into the scoring.
Worship facilities are often have week tenants such as preschools; how is that treated?
But even within houses of worship, some are basically closed M-F, while facilities like ours are used all week long
#2 would be of interest
both, but #2 would be more helpful in the short term.
both please, but #2 first
Brooks, another good topic would be outdoor lighting, which is energy efficiency, light pollution, and respect for nocturnal species and plants.
Thanks for the presentation!
2, maybe #3 for benchmarking session in PM
